To be honest, I’ve never really convinced anyone to watch it myself. But you could try telling her that it’s not completely based on that. Tell her about everything else; the humour, the interesting storylines, the beautiful people and so on. You could leave out the part about emotional trauma and let her experience it for herself, by that time she’ll be hopefully so invested in the show that she won’t want to stop watching it. Let me know how it works out.
